Snowshoeing

As the powder piles up on the hills and mountain, the snowshoes that many used (and some still use) for work in the past are now donned for pleasure. Instead of sinking in the fluffy stuff - you can ride high and easy. Snowshoes come in a variety of sizes and shapes and modern day materials now - making tramping on snow this way a lot of fun. Check with local outdoor shops for rentals and head out for some fun!

 

Smithers Olympic Torch Relay Event

Day 93 of the Olympic Torch Relay saw a massive event in Smithers, coinciding with the ‘Spirit of the Mountains’ winter festival antics on Main Street.
