I have visited Smithers several times over the last 10 years and am always impressed by the easygoing attitude of the people I meet. Whether it’s at the Farmers’ Market, sitting in a restaurant on Main Street, or walking one of the trails, I always feel welcome! I come home refreshed and a little more light-hearted everytime. Day 93 of the Olympic Torch Relay saw a massive event in Smithers, coinciding with the ‘Spirit of the Mountains’ winter festival antics on Main Street.
From our annual Fall Fair & Rodeo to two-time Juno award-winning musician Alex Cuba, Midsummer Music Festival and the Creative Roots dance group, Smithers will keep you entertained.
The activities are limitless! Hiking, biking, boating, swimming, fishing, horseback riding… or just relaxing in view of the mountains.
Winter in the Smithers area is the most beautiful season of all, with lots to do for everyone.
