Mountain Goat Monument

Route 16, Near Main Street, Smithers, BC V0J 2N0

A tribute to the women and men of the guiding industry of the Smithers area who spend countless hours in the wilderness sharing the beauty of our forests and mountains with visitors from around the world.

Erected in 1998, this monument is a tribute to all those people in the Smitners area who work in the guiding business. It's these people who share the wonders of the outdoors with the many visitors who come to Smithers for its unsurpassed fishing, hunting and hiking. Al Fletcher, and the late Ernest Haase were instrumental in the idea of a monument to those working in the guiding industry.
