A top-rated cross-country ski area just minutes from downtown Smithers on the mid-slopes of Hudson Bay Mountain.
BV Nordic Centre is one of northern British Columbia's premier nordic skiing facilities. In February 2007, the Centre will be host to the Western Canada Cross-Country Championships.
BV Nordic's new website features detailed information on the facility and the BV Nordic Ski Club, as well as trail conditions updated regularly.
Directions
Follow directions to "Ski Smithers" but drive only 9 km along the Hudson Bay Mountain Road.
Trails
The BV Nordic Center has 45 km of well-groomed trails set with a double classic track and middle skating lane. Season operates from late November to the end of March.
As well, 5.5 kilometres of lit track is available for night skiing, dusk to 9:30 pm, every day.
The Centre's new one-way Dog Trail loop allows you to ski with your pooch.
Butchfink Lodge
The Buchfink Lodge is located at the Chris Dahlie staging area and is open 7 days a week. The Lodge closes at 9:30 pm on week nights and 5 pm on the weekends.

Trail passes may be purchased in Town at McBike & Sport or at Winterland Ski.
