Residential Composters

As per Town of Smithers Garbage Collection Bylaw No. 1425, compostable materials, such as lawn and garden waste are not permitted for removal as garbage. These materials can be dropped off at the Work's Yard compost bin at 2888 19th Avenue or residents can properly compost these materials, in a garden composter, for their own personal use in gardens and flowerbeds.

The Town of Smithers Works and Operations Department will be offering 11 cubic foot residential composters, to Town of Smithers residents, at a bulk price of $55 plus tax.

If you are interested in purchasing a composter, please call the Works Department at 250-847-1649, or visit the Town Office at 1027 Aldous Street.
