Chapman Lake

Medium size lake, 37.5 km from Smithers. Boat launch and camping. Rainbow, cutthroat & Char (lake trout) available.

Directions
From Smithers, drive east on Route 16, crossing the Bulkley River bridge. At the top of the hill, look for signs directing you to "Babine Lake, Tukii Lodge". Turn left onto Babine Lake Road. Pavement gives way at 15 km to all-weather gravel road. At km 37.5, look for bridge across creek. Turn-off for boat launch and camping is just before this spot.

Located on the southwest side of Chapman is a medium, firm, grassy BCFS campsite suitable for truck and camper units, R.V.'s and small trailer units. Cartop boats can be launched at the site.

Chapman is a fair to good producer of Lake Char up to 8 lbs., while Rainbows and Cutthroat range in the 2 lb. class. Fly fishing, spinning and trolling all work in Chapman, although trolling with a gang troll along with worms or various lures is the most popular method used on the lake.
